Billy O'Meara

O’MEARA (Sean Tobar, Upper Main Street, Ballydehob and formerly of Colla Road, Schull) after a long illness on October 22nd 2025, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Schull Community Hospital. BILLY (William) (Dapdad), beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Shannon), who lovingly cared for him, much loved father of Martin, Barry and the late Brendan and Christopher, brother of the late John, brother-in-law of the late Allan. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters-in-law Fionnuala, Martina, Dara and Eleanor, Dapdad of Lydia, Dylan and Scott, Emily, Ella and Ava, loving sisters Lizzy, Matilda, Rose and Oriel, nieces Susan, Eleanor and Denise, nephews Richard and Peter, brother-in-law Adrian, sisters-in-law Violet, Betty and Barbara, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Arundel & O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Schull on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5pm to 7pm followed by Prayers. Funeral Service on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12 noon in St Matthias’ Church of Ireland, Ballydehob. Funeral afterwards in The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Cork at 3pm. A special thanks to all the wonderful staff of Schull Community Hospital for the loving care shown to Billy, to Dr. Denis O’Donovan, Mizen Medical Practice, Drinagh Pharmacy Schull, Bantry Hospital, all his home help carers, Marymount Hospice, West Cork Palliative Care, Dr. Michael Henry, nurse Grace O’Sullivan CUH and support of family and friends .
