The death has occurred of
Breda Monks
(née O'Connor)
On August 17th 2022, peacefully in her 90th year in the presence of her loving family and in the caring hands of staff at Bantry General Hospital. BREDA, beloved wife of the late Joe, dear mother of Mary (Daly), Esther (O’Driscoll), Carmel (Fitzgerald), Joseph, Jacinta (O’Sullivan), her carer Karen, Conor and the late Patrick. Sadly missed by her loving family, sister Kay (Parslow), sons-in-law Dermot, Ronnie, Tommy and Matt, daughter-in-law Mary, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.
May she rest in peace.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care that Breda received from her home helps and staff from the Alzheimer’s Society.
Reposing at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel St., Bantry on Friday, August 19th, from 6.30pm to 8pm with Vigil prayers at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday, August 20th, at 12 noon at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (livestreamed on bantryparish.ie) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to the West Cork Palliative Care, c/o Bantry General Hospital.
