Brendan Clarke

Brendan was eighteen when he emigrated. He came home and always returned to England where he lived for the past thirty years. His family are greatly saddened by the news of his death on 22nd December, 2023 .

Predeceased by his mother Connie and sister Debbie. He will be sadly missed by his father Joe, brothers Dave, Joe, Adrian and Gerard and by the extended family and friends. A private cremation will take place in London and a Memorial Service will be held in Barna at a later date.

"I am standing on the sea shore, a ship sails in the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her till at last she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says: “She is gone.” Gone! Gone where ? Gone from my sight, that is all, She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming,and there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”
