The death has occurred of

BRIAN COPPINGER

Lydacan, Gort, Galway

Coppinger Brian  Lydacan, Gort Co. Galway and late of Cahermore, Gort. Peacefully on Sunday the 19th of July 2020 - after a great battle borne with dignity and amazing courage whilst surrounded by his heartbroken family and in the exceptional care of the Galway Hospice Foundation.

 

Brian will forever be in the hearts of his adoring girls and family. Cherished husband and best friend of Laura and wonderful dad to Zara, Elise and Skye. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Noel and Nuala and by his loving brothers Raymond and David. Fondly remembered by his sisters in law Triona and Jen, nephews, parents in law Gerry and Josephine, his uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbours, work colleagues, and his many friends and connections both on and off the fields in Gort Hurling Club, St. Colmans Camogie Club and Gort Rugby Club.

Due to government guidelines and restrictions in the best practice to help prevent the spread of covid 19 Brian’s Funeral will be in private.

 

Brian will rest at home with his loving family and close friends in Lydacan (please note the family home is strictly private at all times).

 

Brian’s funeral cortège will arrive at St. Colman’s Church Gort on Tuesday July 21st for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Funeral afterwards to Kiltartan new cemetery where Brian will be laid to rest.       Flowers are most welcome or Donations if desired in his memory can be made to The Galway Hospice Foundation. If you would like to be a part of Brian’s final farewell you can view his mass online at the Gort Parish Facebook page. For those who wish to pay their respects and say goodbye to Brian you can do so by forming a static guard of honour in Gort starting from Crowe Street to The Square (the funeral cortège will arrive at 1.30 pm approx) please adhere to social distancing and the 2 meter apart guidelines at all times. Condolences to the family can be left on the online page below or sent in the traditional manner.

The Coppinger and Coyne families deeply appreciate your kindness, loyalty, love and support at this time. A memorial mass for Brian will be held at a later date. The family wish to thank most sincerely all our fantastic friends, Dr. Maccon Keane and his medical teams and the Galway Hospice foundation for the love and care shown to them and Brian.

 

Finally to Brian you were an amazing husband, dad, son, brother and friend to all with a wit and humour that will always be remembered, our hearts are broken to have to let you go but we will love you with an everlasting love, sleep well, you will never be forgotten xxx.
