DOWNEY (Cork) On 14th February 2026, peacefully in the presence of her loving family and in the tender and exceptional care of the staff of Ward 1A, Cork University Hospital, BRIDIE (nee O’Keeffe), Hillcrest Rise, Blarney Road and formerly of SMOH. Dearly beloved wife of the late Michael and much loved mam of Neilus and James, devoted nan of Kadie, Scott, Michael and Abi and great grandson Teddy and loving aunt of Pamela. Loving daughter of the late James and Kitty, dearest sister of Nora and the late Hawlie, Danny, Jimmy, Mag, May, Helen, Sheila and Kit, mother-in-law of Caroline (Duggan) and Trish (Twomey).

Sadly missed by her loving family, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, wonderful neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Thursday (19th February) from 12noon, family in attendance from 4.00pm with Rosary Prayers at 5.00pm. Requiem Mass on Friday (20th February) at 11.00am in St. Mary’s on the Hill Church, Knocknaheeny. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s New Cemetery, Curraghkippane. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Cork University Hospital.
