The death has occurred of
Bryan Maguire
The death has occurred of Bryan Maguire, “Fionn Uisce”, Silversprings, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
On 28th March 2020, at South Tipperary General Hospital, following a brief illness, bravely borne. Loving, and much loved, husband of Margaret, father of Sorcha, Mairéad, Gráinne, Bryan and Deirdre, father-in-law of Arthur, John, Siobhan and Patrick, and grandfather of the O’Leary, McDowell, Bardon & Maguire children. Faithful friend and connected member of Camphill Community (Grangemockler).
Sadly missed by his sisters, Kathleen (Quirke, Nodstown) and Mary (Colbert, St. Albans), his sisters-in-law, Nancy (Sr. Margherita, Carrick-on-Suir), Claire (Meaney, Cappoquin) and Maeve (Veale, Waterford), his many nephews and nieces, among them, the children of his late sister, Eileen (Power, Kilmacud) and late sister-in-law, Della (Walsh, Templeogue), also his grandnieces & grandnephews and great-grand ones too, his cousins and relatives, his few remaining life-long friends, his good neighbours (past and present), his faithful clients, and his loyal & trusted former employees (some retired, some still working) who enabled him to remain happy and fulfilled in his work to the end.
In compliance with current Diocesan and public health requirements, there will be no funeral service and burial will take place, privately, at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Clonmel. To abide by Bryan’s wishes, there will be no graveside eulogies. Instead, the family have decided to share the following extracts from his last letter, which he dictated (with his customary care) to a member of hospital staff: “This is the way to go - calmly and peacefully. My thanks to Dr. Bernardine Rochford, and to Dr. Bolger and the staff in South Tipperary Hospital”. He went on to say that his funeral should be “as simple and discrete as possible” and asked that consideration be given to “publicising the arrangements after the event”. He extended his “sincere and undying love to each and every one” of his beloved family and finished the letter (before signing) with “God bless you”.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
