Buddy Valkenburg

Buddy Valkenburg, Quay Street, Belmullet and formerly of The Square, Belmullet, Co. Mayo, peacefully at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin on 6th February 2021. Predeceased by his brothers Eamon and Seán and his sister, Sr. Éilis. Honourary Governor of the R.N.L.I. He will be sadly missed by his sister Maura, nephews Peter and Stephen, sister in law Joan, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Remains will leave McDonnells Funeral Home, Belmullet, on Thursday at 11.30am, via Main Street, stopping momentarily at the family home on Quay Street and continuing on to School Street, to arrive at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Belmullet, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial of ashes in Glencastle New Cemetery. In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Buddy’s funeral will be private for immediate family and close friends only. For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortège passes through the town and en route to the church, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the streets, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery, ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard. The Valkenburg family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

Memorial Mass for the soul of Buddy will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend due to restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence form on this webpage.
