Captain Laurence Smith

SMITH Captain Laurence, Ballsbridge, Dublin, 16th January 2026 at St. Vincent’s University Hospital after a short illness surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Eileen and much-loved father of Paul, Ellen (McDermott), Suzanne (Fehily) and Audrey (Follett). He will be greatly missed by his family, daughter-in-law Helen, sons-in-law Dermot and James. His cherished grandchildren Daniel, Orla, Lauren, James, Lara, Sarah, Audrey, Jake, Jessie, Amy, Charles, Abigail and the late Rachel, brothers-in-law Bobby and Des, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and former colleagues from the airline industry.

Reposing on Wednesday evening (21st January) in Fanagans Carnegie Funeral Home, Monkstown A94 XK28 from 5.00 pm until 7.00 pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate Laurence’s life will take place on Thursday afternoon (22th January) at 3.15 pm in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross.D6W X296 which may be viewed on the following link https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/ As requested by Laurence he would like those attending the Service to wear colourful scarves.
