Carmel Connolly
(née Gilmartin)

Formerly of Strandhill, Co. Sligo. Unexpectedly at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by her close family, predeceased by her parents, James and Ellen Gilmartin (Sooey), her siblings, Joe, Rose and Mary. Beloved wife of Michael and cherished mother of Cyril (Tipperary) and Tony (Canada). Sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, sisters, Philomena, Mathona, Peig, Anne and Christina, daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Michelle, grandchildren, Hazel, Lydia, Méabh and Una, in-laws, nephews, nieces, especially Mary and her husband, Ciarán, extended family, neighbours and a close circle of friends. Carmel’s warmth, honesty and enduring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. May she rest peacefully.

Funeral will arrive to The Church of Mary Immaculate, Grange, Co. Sligo F91CC85 on Monday morning at 11 o’clock, for requiem mass, with funeral proceeding to McGowan’s Crematorium, Collooney, Co. Sligo F91AKW5. House private please. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Sathya Sai Sanctuary Trust for Nature, Castlebalwin, Co. Sligo, c/o Foley and McGowan’s Funeral Home.
