Formerly of Castleknock, Dublin and Woodquay, Galway.

Carmel passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the exceptional care of the staff of St. Joseph’s Ward, UCHG.

Predeceased by her parents, Michael and Madeleine Elwood.

Carmel will be deeply missed and always remembered by her loving husband Martin; her much-loved children Michelle, Brian and Noelle; son-in-law Arnie; daughter-in-law Linda; and her devoted grandchildren Ailbhe, Clara, Sarah, Arlo, Shay and Oscar.

She will be greatly missed by her sisters Cathy, Irene and Moira; brothers Pat, Niall, Jimmy, Paul, Gary and Tom; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; members of the extended Farrell and Elwood families; neighbours; and her wide circle of friends.

Reposing in Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin (H91 CK84), on Sunday the 22nd of March from 4:30pm until 7:30pm. Private removal afterwards to her home. Carmel’s Requiem Mass will take place on Monday the 23rd of March at 11:30am, in The Abbey Church, Saint Francis Street (H91 C53K). Carmel will then be laid to rest, in Rahoon Cemetery.

Parking: There is ample parking available at The Corrib Shopping Centre Multi-Storey Car Park (H91 DP6R) which is only a 2 minute walk to/from the funeral home. The entrance to the car park is from Bóthar Na mBan. Please note that this car park will close at 6:30pm on Sunday evening.
