Catherine (Cathy) SMYTH
(née Scully)
Catherine (Cathy) Smyth (née Scully) of “Ceithregaoithe”, Castleroe East, Maganey, Co Kildare and formerly of Castlehill, Carlow, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on 29th March, 2026 under the wonderful care of the Doctors and nurses and staff at The Oak Ward, South East Palliative Care Unit, Waterford University Hospital.
Beloved wife of Frank, much loved mother of Patricia, Richard, Paul, John and Sandra and cherished sister of Mary, Anne, Phil and Clare.
Predeceased by her brother Patrick, parents Molly and Paddy, grand-daughter Shauna. Mother-in-law Francis and father-in-law John.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Maurice and Brian, daughters-in-law Shauna, Missy and Maeve, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.
May Catherine’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace
Catherine will repose at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (R93 C863) on Monday 30th March from 4pm until 7.30pm, pausing for Prayers at 6pm. Removal from there on Tuesday morning at 9.45am to The Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to Carpenter Bros Cremation Chapel, Shamrock Sq., for cremation Service at 11.15am approx.
