Catherine (Kay) Ward

The death has occurred peacefully of Catherine Kay Ward late of Canon St Kells and Tober Bán in the loving care of  her family and the Medical Staff of Care Choice Nursing Home Trim following a short illness on Saturday 16th July 2022. 

Kay as she was fondly known was predeceased by her parents Matthew and Nora her brothers John and Paddy and brother-in-law Fergus and is survived by her loving sister Mary, nieces and nephews Louise, John, Jenifer, Anita, Stephen, Matthew, Clodagh and Cameron, sister-in-law Monica,Sharon and Anthony, faithful friend Ann and relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Kay will repose on Monday at Mc Entee’s Funeral Home Newmarket St., Kells A82 K0D7 from 4 to 6.30 pm. Removal on Tuesay morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Colmcille’s Church for Funeral Mass at 11am (which can be viewed on kellsparish.ie) followed by burial in St. Colmcille's Cemetery.

Kay will be fondly remembered as a warm hearted friendly person who always had time to have a chat with neighbours and friends and was highly respected in the workplace. Her last place of employment was Kells Heritage Centre where she was delighted to meet tourists from all over the world and share her knowledge of her beloved native Kells. She was an active member of the Jim Connell Festival Committee and Labour Party where she gave 100% dedication and time.

Kay will be greatly missed by her family and the wider community of Kells.
