Catherine passed away peacefully on the 21st of February 2026 in her 81st Year in the wonderful care of the staff at the Galway Hospice, comforted by the presence of her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Michael, her daughter-in-law Pauline, her parents Tom and Kate, her brothers Máirtín, Páraic, and William, and her sisters Brídie, Nanín, Sarah, Bairbre and Máirín.

Catherine will be forever missed by her sons William and Patrick and her daughter Veronica (Flannery), her daughter-in-law Ning, and her son-in-law Ger, her grandchildren Jerome Flannery and his wife Virginia, Kelley (Fleury) and her husband Kevin, Michael Kelly, Lorna Kelly, Roisin Kelly and also her great grandchildren Conor Flannery, Kerrie Flannery and Éala Fleury.

Catherine will be deeply mourned by her sisters Nóra (Joyce) and her husband Mícheál (An Cheathrú Rua), Grainne (Faherty) Rosscahill and Péige (Molloy) and her husband Andrew (Clonbullogue), and by all members of their extended families, her good neighbours, and many friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Catherine will repose at her daughter’s residence, Ballinakill, Eyrecourt (H53 F248) on Tuesday 24th of February from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock. Requiem mass on Wednesday in St. Francis Church, Meelick (H53 H728) at 11 o'clock. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
