Catherine Stricker
(née Sunderland)

Catherine Stricker (also known as Kay, or Kathleen) passed away at home in Santa Barbara, California, on January 11, 2023.  She is survived by her son Mark Wendell Still, daughter Denise (Stricker) Higgins, grandchildren Clayton, Sara and Emily, brothers Billy and Gerard.  She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cousins in Ireland, the UK, Canada, USA, and Australia. 

She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.  For so many of her family and extended family, she was a source of strong connection for keeping our family history alive for us. She made sure we knew that we came from strong roots, as she shared her family knowledge with us. Catherine left Ireland many years ago to start on her long adventure, but Ireland never left her.  She spoke of her heritage with such pride to all those she met.  

Many thanks to her son Mark for all of his support.  Thanks also to the wonderful friends and staff at the community of Pilgrim Terrace for taking such good care of her.
