On May 25th 2025 peacefully in her sleep at home, Christine (née McCarthy) (late Staff of Our Lady’s Hospital) beloved wife of 55 years of Tim and loving mother of Majella (Hickey), Jennifer (Foran-Smyth) and John, loving grandmother of Ava, Stephen, James, Lilia, T. J., Aisling and Ciara. Sister of Tommy, Gretta and the late Bridget. Sadly missed by her loving husband and family, sons-in-law Darren Hickey and Darren Smyth, Avril, grandchildren, brother, sister, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces especially her god-daughter Mairéad, Michael Walsh, Sheila and Paddy Golden, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in peace.

Lying in repose at her home 31 Halldene Avenue, Bishopstown, (Eircode T12 VP6R) Monday (26th) from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Requiem Mass at 11.00am Tuesday (27th) in the Church of the Real Presence, Curraheen Road which can be viewed on https://www.curraheenparish.com/ Funeral afterwards to St James’ Cemetery Chetwynd.

Christine’s family would like to thank most sincerely the Management and Staff at the Mercy University Hospital, Mercy Home Care team, Comfort Keepers, Dr Colman Twomey and staff at Rahona House Surgery, Public Health Nurses and Marymount Palliative Care team especially Caroline Rea for the excellent care given to her.
