The death has occurred of
Colette Barrett
(née O'Connell)
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Colette Barrett (née O'Connell), Kingsfort Square, Castlepark, Mallow and late of Onslow Gardens, Commons Road, Cork and Knockpogue Avenue, Farranree, who passed away after an illness bravely borne surrounded by her loving family on August 1st 2025 at Cork University Hospital.
Beloved wife of the late Pat and adored mother of Regina, Mark and Laura.
Predeceased by her husband Patrick (Pat), parents Jerry and Margaret O'Connell, brother Martin and sister Dolores.
Sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law Eric, daughter-in-law Donna, grandchildren Jordan, Eva, Michael, Kayla, Lydia, Evan and Keyara, brothers Michael, Gerard and Paul, sisters Marie and Bernie, her sister-in-law Essie, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
May She Rest In Peace.
Lying in repose at her residence (25A Kingsfort Square, Castlepark, Mallow, P51 WRW2) on Monday (August 4th) from 6pm with Prayers at 7pm.
Reception into the Church of the Resurrection, Mallow on Tuesday (August 5th) for Requiem Mass at 2.30pm.
Funeral afterwards to the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork for a Service at 5pm which may be viewed on
Cremation Service Live Stream.
Colette's family would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Wards 5B and GC of Cork University Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness shown to their mother during her time with them.
