Igoes Shop was and always will be a go to place for those hard to find gifts and stationary. and the '99' was the only one to get in town.. I remember back in the 80's it it was Mrs Igoe and Pat running the shop... Pat will be sadly missed..

Growing up in Tubbercurry , as I did, in the depressed mid 80s , Igoe's was something of a haven, especially when indulging in the famous '99', or wanting to avail of the latest 'cool' stationery. Pat took over from his mother in delivering these 'necessities' with great aplomb and though not having lived in Tubbercurry for decades I often stop at the shop with my children when I'm passing through.

Great memories of long nights in McGuinness’s and many’s a good night of craic and banter. Pat was a stalwart of the business community in Tubbercurry and will be sadly missed. His untimely passing is a huge loss to Main Street and the Tubbercurry area in general.

I have warm memories of "popping over to Igoe's" when we were kids living on Teeling Street. Both Mrs Igoe and Pat were always unfailingly kind and helpful. Pat always kept us up to date with the latest films in the days of the VCR and was never too hard on late returns!
