I was so shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of Gaye. Sincerest sympathies to Sue and Gaye’s family and friends. I got to know Gaye in St Paul’s from 1987-96, Coming in newly graduated and under confident I was a bit intimidated by Gaye! She was so competent, professional and had the students in the palm of her hand! I got to know her as a very kind, generous, witty and fun loving colleague. Great memories of Friday after school drinks in Templeogue, they weren’t the same if Gaye wasn’t there! Loved meeting Gaye at St Paul’s reunions in recent years. You were one of a kind Gaye. May you Rest In Peace.

So saddened to hear of Gaye's passing. I still remember her fondly from our school days. She was a sound girl who was always there for her classmates but wasn't slow about telling you to get your act together! I still think of her every 25th March, as our birthdays are only days apart. The world will be a lesser place without her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Annemarie O'Brien, 6I, Presentation Secondary School, 1978.

I have so many great memories of Gaye & playing camogie with her in Scoil Ui Chonaill GAA Club & in particular in our Senior Camogie Championship win in 1979. We had so much fun & lots of laughs. I really enjoyed her company & friendship & while we kept in contact with Christmas cards for many years we eventually all went our separate ways. I was so delighted to get a Christmas card from her in December 2018 & contacted her immediately, it was like we had never lost touch, we arranged to meet up & had a great night in The Ivy on Dawson Street spending the night laughing while reminiscing about old times & promising to meet up again. Sadly with Covid we never got to meet up last year.
An absolute beautiful ceremony . Rest in peace Gaye.

Sincerest sympathy to Sue and to Gaye’s family on her untimely death.I worked with Gaye in St Paul’s from 1992 to 2003 and have very fond memories.Being from Cork, I was very often at the receiving end of her dry wit as she reminded me very frequently that I was a “Culchie” and to be grateful I was allowed into the Pale..She also enjoyed winding me up on the pointlessness of poetry, citing the “one about the pot” as being the most pointless of them all.It was “ Ode to a Grecian Urn”.She leaves behind a wonderful legacy and will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Gaye's partner, family and friends. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have her as a part of my life, she was an amazing role model and encouraged all of the students at Eureka to be the best version of themselves. She believed in us all and she lives on in our hearts, encouraging us to reach our full potential.
So untimely, So sad, May she rest in perpetual peace.
