Several years ago, needing help finding a long-lost relative in Ireland, we reached out on the internet. Oisin immediately responded, treating us total strangers like family. He seemed a kind, caring, very thoughtful person, and his assistance proved to be invaluable. When we made it over and finally met him in person, Oisin exceeded our expectations. In our eyes he will always remain beyond brilliant, and we will never forget him.

I am saddened to hear of Oisin’s passing. We shared many conversations over the years about adoption and I felt comfort in his friendship. My deepest sympathy to all who loved him. Sleep well lovely, gentle man.

Very saddened to hear of Oisin's passing. We were friendly in our early days at Colaiste Iognaid (Jes) and he had a lovely nature. Condolences to his family on their great loss. The phrase from Don McLean's song Vincent, about Vincent Van Gogh, comes to mind:

Dear Evelyn and Gearoidin my deepest sympathies to you both and your extended family. I was so sad to hear the news of Oisin passing. I have know him since I was 4 when we moved to Galway and became your next door neighbors and I have some lovely memories of spending time growing up with Oisin. He was always a lovely, gentle, sensitive guy with a good wry sense of humor. I got to know him best when my mum passed away and he was a great support to me then. He will be sadly missed.

Oisin, losing a gentle soul like you hurts so much, a hugely fun, creative, interesting & intelligent man , you remembered the small things and you connected with the good, the open hearted, the gentle & the just .,will always remember your ‘light’ and as others have said your infectious smile, your divilish wit but most of all that gentle soul that shone oh so bright, heartfelt condolences to your family & all those who connected with you in this special way xxx

I'm proud of how many valued your insights and guidance and prouder still to have had the privilege of your friendship. Conversations were an event - real and enriching with a decent dollop of divilment that always left me smiling long after we parted. Oisin never changed over the years never taking life or people serious, and he always wore an infectious smile which was always followed by humorous chat and a joke. I was truly saddened to hear of his sudden death. May he rest in peace.
