My sincere sympathy to all the Kavanagh family on the death of Derek. While in Confey Parish Derek was a very ecumenically minded man, kind to all, respectful and very considerate. He was a great friend of all in St. Charles Borromeo Church community. I had many encounters with him and always found him a most Christian, gentle and friendly person. So often he helped generously around the Church grounds and was amenable to all who travelled by or walked past his home, always greeting with a friendly smile. May Derek be at peace in God's presence. Remembering you all in prayer.
