I knew Ade during his time at RAF Stornoway. Such a character who fairly brightened the place up.

I met Clugsy at RAF Stornoway he was so loveable ,he introduced me to James ( the band) and tried to teach us all to dance in a cool way, he was so cool ,always gentle ,he had great sense of humour .So glad we enjoyed even such a short portion of his life .

I knew Clugsy as part of the RAF Stornoway ‘family’ during a 1991/1992 posting. Even though it’s been 30 years since then, I can vividly see him dancing around the place and full of joy. He was an incredibly kind person and I think he touched a lot of people with his big heart. An unforgettable character.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Ade’s passing. He was a lovely guy and will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences go to his wife and family at this difficult and trying time.

Such devastating news. I first met Ade at RAF Lyneham when he came to work at Marconi and we hit it off straight away. He was a lovable nutter. He will be sadly missed. Condolences to Sara and the kids.

Totally dumbstruck to hear this terribly sad and unexpected news.
I got to know Clugsy (as was known) when I was at RAF Stornoway too.
As everyone has pointed out, he was indeed a character, much like Marmite (I like Marmite)!

I’m absolutely gutted with this news. I came across “Clugs” before I got to know him because of an “incident” at RAF Cosford in 1990, when I got to know him at Stornoway, in 1991, he admitted he was the cause of the full camps fri, Sat,Sun parade.

He was deffo one of a kind. Clugs n me might as well have just stayed in No1’s the amount of time we were up on front of the CO.

What a sad loss. My condolences to all family and friends. Clugsy as we knew him on the Isle of Lewis in the 90's was one of the funniest happiest people I've had the pleasure to meet.

Adrian, or Clugsy as he was known in Stornoway was one in a million. He could brighten the darkest day, lift spirits when they were low with his zest for life and fun filled attitude towards it.

It's approaching 30 years since I last saw him, but I still chuckle to myself at some of the things he got up to!

Although Ade and I worked toether only a relatively short time, I felt a profoundly unique kinship with Ade almost immediately. I am sure I'm not alone in that, as he was the kind of person that others are drawn to. The loss of Ade is immeasurable to so many, both personal and professional.
