My deepest condolences to Gerald, Lorraine, Oisín, Eugenie, Alan, Sarah and the extended Farrell family on the very sad passing of Adie.
I have fond memories of selling wool to Adie in Granard down the years and when I led Longford farmers as chairman of Longford IFA county executive, Adie, as a farmer and a local co councillor, was very supportive of organised efforts by farmers to protect and try to improve the livelihoods of farm families in Co Longford.
Adie was not just popular with his neighbours in his native Lanesboro and amongst the voters of South Longford who reelected him to represent them on Longford co council for multiple terms, he was loved by his constituents who he served diligently and loyally when he was a councillor and he held the honour of being Chairman of Longford Co Council.
Adie will be greatly missed by the people of Lanesboro and surrounding areas and by many people further afield who had the privilege to know him.
May his good soul Rest in Perpetual Peace.
