I have really fond memories of Agnes from the silage days in Castletown. It was one of my first real jobs and I loved every minute of it.

Agnes was in the thick of it keeping the show on the road in her calm and understated manner. I was a young fella starting off with lots to learn but Agnes, Eugene senior and the lads made me feel like a valued, appreciated and respected member of the crew.

Agnes took a great interest in people and was always quick with a word of praise and encouragement, she also made fully sure you were looked after as well as one of her own.

A lovely person who had that unique ability to make you feel uplifted even if you met her a couple of times in the same working day.

Agnes was of that generation of country mothers who did it all, every day with a smile on her face... and made it look easy.

Eugene, Jamie and Deirdre, my sincerest condolences on the loss of Agnes.

We have only one mother and when she goes, a little bit of us goes with her.

God rest Agnes, and comfort you all in what are the most difficult of times.
