A Poem for Aunty Agnes

You were a fierce hard worker,
Who could turn your hand,
To cooking for so many,
Milking cows,
Toiling the Land.

Like a second Mother to your English Nieces and Nephew,
The Summer holidays we spent,
No demands you ever made on us,
your gift was time,
A loving present.

Your Faith and Sense of humour,
Brought you through times of loss for sure,
And the kindness of those around you,
Helped you cope and to endure.

You leave behind a legacy,
Of happy, healthy, successful sons,
And an ever expanding family,
To remind us of where they have come.

So it is with a heavy heart,
We now say goodbye,
You are a bright new star,
In the Heavens Sky.

We will miss you dear Aunty Agnes,
Just knowing you are not there,
But we know you are at peace now,
Within Gods great love we share.
