Only found out about Amby today. May he rest in peace. A wonderful person. And a credit to him and his family. Johnny was the same . Class. Rip. Tom .

Aidan, I can't believe you're gone and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I am desolate that I couldn't be there at your funeral, to honour you as my cousin and my friend. I have great memories of Summer '81, hanging out with you and the gang, belting out 'Wild Thing' and 'Black Betty'. Your warm, genuine welcome each time we met always melted the years away and your greeting of 'How ya Cuz?' always made me feel included. The world is now a sadder place without your dazzling smile and twinkling blue eyes. Please pull a pint of Guinness for Raji when you meet him.

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Amby's passing, my prayers and thoughts are with his family and the largest circle of friends who loved him so much, Limerick has lost a real special guy, I remember you so fondly Amby may you rest in peace.

We all had the best childhood growing up. Or in the field playing with a football or hurley, while sitting under the huge tree with the twins having a picnic with Miko the dog. So many special memories that will never leave me. It was a novelty going out to Rita's dipping our feet in the stream. Or I remember someone had a van and they would be packed in like a tin of sardines off to Doolin on a session or 2.

Dismayed to be told of Ambys passing. I had the great pleasure of living and working alongside him in Holland and Australia many decades ago. I've seldom laughed harder or been made to think deeper in the company of another person. My sincere condolences to his family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Amby's death. Impossible to believe that someone who brought so much light and laughter to everyone who crossed his path is no more. I particularly loved meeting Amby at Limerick hurling matches before the glory years. He always had a story and a phrase (that usually mentioned Clare or Tipperary) that would leave you doubled over laughing. Rest easy, Amby. We'll not see your like again for a long, long time.
