I was greatly saddened to hear, belatedly, of Aidan’s passing. He was a star for Ennis RFC when he brought all the Rugby lads down to Ennis for the annual Rugby/Golf weekend. It was the great get-together every summer.
Aidan gave so much of himself to make that fundraiser a success. For us Aidan’s personality was the draw. What a great guy. And a gentleman.
May he rest in eternal peace

To all the Deegan family I offer my sincere sympathy. Aiden was a friend of my late husband John who was working in Ennis in the 70’s. John played rugby with Ennis and they became friends. 18 months ago Aiden came to Charleville for John’s funeral. Thank you Aiden. I bet they’re back playing together again🤞

Sincere sympathy to Gordon, Kate, Clodsgh and the extended Deegan and Mahon. He was a wonderful person always full of fun. In the late 70s there were 2 four balls in Lahinch combined they became The Crows Golfing Society. There are only 2 of them still around. Hopefully the Society will go on under Conor Connolly and Brian Dinan. Rest in peace Aidan you’ll meet a lot in your new home. Thanks for all your goodness and friendship

He gave a lot to the town of Ennis.

Ever since he breezed in from Abbeyleix to the B O I some 62 yrs ago he raised the spirits of all those, who had the good fortune to befriend him.
Very often the highlight of the week for some airport staff was listening to his hilarious accounts of the weekend exploits at golf, tennis or rugby trips, at the Monday morning "strategic" meetings.
A great organiser, he started rugby coaching in Ennis RFC, tennis competitions for seniors, a very successful "Crows & Prawns" Golf Society in Lahinch G.C. & became a founder member of the "Forever Young Singers" choir.

We were all very sad to hear of Aidan's passing. He has a wonderful reputation and my Father, Donal, always speaks so fondly of him. And indeed, as children, we recall the soccer played in his garden. Our condolences.

My father & Danny D as he called him, enjoyed many great rugby & golf adventures together. Indeed, l still remember the Former Rugby Internationals descending on Ennis GC to support Ennis Youth Rugby but really because they couldn't say no to Aidan!
He was indeed a force of nature & whether it was Rugby,Golf,Tennis or the Crows & Prawns, the memories of his generosity of time & spirit will endure with many.

He had the looks of a "Hollywood Star" and the build of an "International Rugby Player" A great combination. He was a genuine nice man and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
