So sorry to hear of Aidan’s passing. Thinking of Noreen and the whole family at this time. Aidan was a lovely neighbour to have and was full of fun. I remember cutting past all the houses on the way to Collum’s when we were young and he’d always have a lovely cheerful hello. When I met Richard and brought him to Donegal in the early years he’d have a great welcome for him even though he was a “Dub” lots of fun GAA banter!
Great memories of a true gentleman. Rest in peace Aidan.

I first came to know Aidan when we entered St Patrick’s College, Maynooth on the same day in 1964. Over the years, we kept in contact although in opposite parts on the country and continued to enjoy each other’s company and friendship. He was always most hospitable to us whenever we visited his beloved Donegal as we did in recent years. Aidan was a very kind and gentle person who enlivened and enriched every gathering. I am also aware that he helped so many young people in various ways over the years. He will be sorely missed.

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Noreen, John and extended family on the very sad passing of your beloved Aidan.

I was privileged to work with Aidan in Stranorlar Vocational School for almost 30 years.

Aidan was always very generous with his guidance and advice. He was highly popular with both staff and students. Aiden, with a glint in his eye, was always up for a bit of craic or mischief.

Aidan took a deep interest in both the academic and personal development of his pupils which continued long after they left the school gates behind. He remembered them all on first name terms.

Aidan was also deeply involved in extra-curricular activities where his love of the GAA came to the fore.

Aidan will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Hard to think of a more kind and giving man, all the hours he spent down the years at the GAA club. Most notably for giving positive words/encouragement to all ages from under 8/10's upwards - what those words mean and who they came from stick with you through life, especially to the younger ages. Also, there would be no Handball club today without Aidan getting the ball rolling.

A pillar of MacCumhaills and the twin towns community you were, and always will be Aidan.
