Dear Christina and family and the Giles clan what a loss of a beautiful man. I remember as a young tacker my big older cousin Aiden felling like he never treated me as a younger cousin and been happy in Aidens company and that never changed into adulthood. The last time l had with Aiden was at a pub in Drumcondra at a family get together a couple of yrs ago. He was himself as always. It was rare to catch Aiden by himself in my world . One time l dropped into see our aunty Carmel one summers evening after work and Aiden was on his way out sure Carmel said of course you will have to have another cup of tea. Aiden went under the stairs and Carmel said he's doing his thing. He suffered in silence. Anyhow we both left after dark. I was 22 then but l knew back then l was in very very special company.

To Mary and all Aidan’s family I send my deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of working with Aidan at Dublin station. A thorough gentleman. We were all so fortunate to have known him.

Very sad to hear of Aidans passing, what a lovely man, always made time for a chat & a giggle in work, condolences to the family. RIP Aidan.

I am so sorry to hear about Aidan’s illness and death. I have such fond memories of him growing up -he was full of fun but also very kind. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace. I am sure the loss will be huge for all his family and friends.

I just became aware of Aidans passing, I have so many memories of the Giles’s family, every one of them including their parents and the very early passing of their father, I spent most of my time with Ciaran and Cathal They all enriched my life , they made me laugh.
We used to keep pigeons in a coop at the end of the Garden, we build the Pigeon Loft ourselves.
Memories of watching “The Old Grey Whistle Test” on BBC and so many other memories far too long to explain.
My heart is broken for the entire family because they help form part of me and my outlook on life.
