Aidan (Max) McManus

Deepest condolences for the family. Aidan was my first bus instructor and I will always remember him. I remember when we saw eachother during work, me driving a bus and you teaching how to drive one, and we pointed eachother in a silly way, like the spiderman multiverse meme. Great instructor. Che la terra ti sia lieve e che la famiglia trovi la forza di vivere nel tuo ricordo.

Aidan touched so many lives in the very best way. I’m grateful I got the chance to know him as instructor and a friend.

We are all devastated at Aidan's untimely death.
What a pure gentleman Aidan was. Admired by all his co-workers, Aidan had such a presence about him, always so positive and a joy to work with. He commanded so much respect amongst his colleagues and all the pupils he taught - the daily feedback we received from Aidan's pupils was unbelievable.
The smiles, the jokes and the banter will be sorely missed.

Aidan I can never thank you enough for the support you gave me , I trained in ism for a bus driver , trained great and failed miserably, nerves got the hold of me , and all you had was nothing but support for me !!! Ringing each other with situations we might have encountered..Aido always had a solution and was never shy in helping anyone.

I got to know Aidan as he taught me to drive rigids, buses and artics at Colliers and ISM. He was a terrific mentor and the best of craic. Always greeted me by roaring across the yard 'CILLIAN! AND HOW ARE YOU YOUNG MAN?'. The day before a test I asked him 'So, do you think I'm ready?' and quick as a flash with a grin on his face Aidan replied 'To that all I have to say is Have you considered getting a leap card?'. Peals of laughter from the two of us and I passed the next day without a single mark. If Aidan thought you were alright for your test, you had absolutely nothing to fear.

We once pulled up to a junction and the face of the truck driver next to us lit up in recognition of Aidan. Windows were rolled down and a full catch up exchanged. He was very fond of his past pupils and took a keen interest in their success in the industry. Another time we were turning at a junction and a bus driver recognised Aidan - all waves, smiles and shouts out the window of 'HOWYA AIDAN!'.

And I saw this respect from his colleagues too, in the industry, at the Finglas driving schools, and at the RSA. He spoke with great fondness of his time at Aircoach and was a wealth of hilarious anecdotes from his long experience. Barely a lesson went by without him mentioning his family which he loved dearly. He especially doted after his kids.

I'll raise a glass of Guinness to you, my friend. My deepest condolences to Aidan's family.
