Aidan was my friend from the Brothers and we were planning to meet in Lisbon when he returned from Ecuador. His radio shows were superb. I loved the sound of his voice on the airwaves. I will miss him and all our discussions of Monaghan during the Troubles, Hugh and music too of course. My Condolence to his family such sad sad news.

Aidan was a quiet, unassuming, super intelligent and dignified gentleman. He died as he lived. And way too soon. Those of us who remember Aidan bouncing down the Glen road in Monaghan with his fabulous curly locks...I christened him Spring-Sprung McMahon...always admired him ..so cool...a great musician..a great conversationalist. Remember the golden days of himself running Fitzgeralds music shop? The band Kasmir? Magic times.
To Peggy, Theo, Siobhan and all the family, my heartfelt condolences to you all. This was not meant to be. Aidan will forever be fondly remembered as one of life's great human beings.
