Aileen was instrumental in setting up Cuidiú - Irish Childbirth Trust 40+ years ago. All of us in Cuidiú owe a great debt of gratitude to Aileen and her cohorts for creating this wonderful organisation to support parents around the time of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and early parenting. Her passion and legacy will live on in the work that we do. R.I.P.

Aileen had a great interest in gardening and she was a member of our garden club years ago. She also joined us on some of our memorable garden trips around the country.

My condolences to Aileen's family. I had the pleasure of training as a psychologist with Aileen. Throughout the two years we were in TCD, Aileen was an incredible support on all fronts not only to me but to others on the programme. I know she made a positive impact on the world of psychology during her career, and I know how important family was to Aileen. May she rest in peace now.

We had the privilege of being Aileen’s friends for many years and of sharing happy times with her in Wicklow and on holidays abroad, in Nerja. Madeira and the Amalfi Coast. We will greatly miss her. Our deepest sympathy to Abby and the family.
