From being a young child always remember first meeting “Our Aunt Aileen from Ireland “.
Such great lady with a big beautiful smile and an ever bigger character . It always stuck with me how she just wanted to keep feeding us! . I only got to meet her again a few times in my life but i have always held those great memories dear to my heart , I am just sorry we couldn’t be there today . With grace she stood with love she gave
A bridge between the bold and brave.
The last great aunt so wise so true
A keeper of the old and new.
She knew the stories time forgot
The family roots the sacred plot.
Through every birthday every loss
She sent out mass cards with a pray for all .
She passed down strength and her point of view
Didn’t hold back when she thought things through
Now comes the hush the heavy air
The chair sits still no longer there.
Her laughter fades the photos rest
But still she beats within our chest.
I’ll miss the visit and the phone calls too
You were a constant in my life every Sunday

The end of an era deep and wide
The final light of that strong tide.
But what she gave won’t ever part

Always remember your Mam & Dad in Northside greeting everyone they met with a warm smile & always stopping for a chat. When we were kids playing on the road or sitting on the back railings of your garden they never gave out, no matter how many footballs landed in the side garden or tennis balls that randomly went over your side wall, they were always returned with a smile. Great neighbours & old friends of our late parents John & Netta. They will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing them.
