I am very to hear of my cousin Ailis’s passing. 🙏❤️

I first got to know Ailis when she was chair of the Immunology Advisory Body, which she agreed to do despite only having an interest in the topic and not working in the area, just to help keep the IAG going. Her determination and enthusiasm led to a fruitful few years of seminars and workshops which were greatly appreciated in Med Lab circles.
We both went on to be in the same book club for many years, and when Ailis was hosting we were always treated to breads and cakes that she had baked for us.
Ailis was always generous with her vast knowledge and skills, including giving lessons on cooking and baking to young mothers in vulnerable populations.
Ailis will be greatly missed, may she Rest in Peace

Myself and our fellow classmates were privileged to spend 12 weeks with Ailis at Ballymaloe Cookery School. Ailis approached her time at Ballymaloe diligently, methodically and always with good humour and fun. Ailis was supportive of everyone and ensured our household always had proper made porridge to start our day. May you rest in peace Dear Ailis, we will carry happy memories of you always when we bake. Polka dots, a bag of coins on tour, dry wit, pithy observations, no time for fuss & gushing, private, golden dogs, very smart lady, proud Maid, consumate tourist, great fun, kind heart & a valued friend. Fantastic hostess for many vets gatherings. Loved watching hockey from the balcony with her & dissecting the world. Sadly missed. Much love Graham x
