Such sad news the last of that strong generation of Lyons. We all have a lot to live up to now. Wonderful memories of trips to Tramore on a Sunday afternoon when most likely other families headed there as well. It never phased Auntie Aine how many of us turned up ,there was always enough apple tart to go around.
A wonderful lady that I feel privileged to have had as an aunt.

To my beautiful Auntie Aine ... the world is a sadder place this morning now that you’ve gone, but Mattie is there at the gates waiting for you I’m sure. What amazing times in Summerville avenue and then Doneraile place when we’d all descend from London (for 2 weeks summer holiday) or later from Galway for a weekend. So welcoming and accepting of the madness of so many happy children racing around like mad things. What a happy house, and Granny Lily in the front bedroom handing out the sixpence to the line of grandchildren when she got her ‘few bob’, where the kettle was always on and apple tart and laughter and singing seemed to be on tap. Mam (Carmel) was forever telling us stories of the dances ye’d go to and the shenanigans the two of you would get up to!! Say hello to all your brothers and sisters and your beloved Mattie for us all. To Jenny, Caroline, Mark, Evelyn and Brian, we’re thinking of you all and there’ll be a time for us all to get together and remember Aine soon I hope.

So saddened to hear of the passing of aunty Aine, a wonderful lady full of life and always with a laugh and a smile. I will always cherish the wonderful memories and fun times I spent in “Windswept” in Waterford and holidays in Tramore. Every time I hear Tom Jones singing I am forever reminded of spending time on the beach with the family and the beloved transistor radio. Forever thankful for the great memories. Dear Auntie Aine , Dad always called you Diggidie, but we never asked why unfortunately. Thanks for the Sunday afternoons when we invaded your house in Donerail Place to see Granny. The fun, the welcome,and all those children running around together, and the apple tarts. Bless you for your kindness, your lovely smile and your care of Mrs. Lily. A truly lovely aunt.
