We were all so shocked and saddened to hear of Aisling's passing. We knew her as a force for good, a leader and a changemaker. We are so sorry to her family and friends on their loss. This is a loss to us all.

I was so shocked to hear that Aisling passed away. I can still see that beautiful smile and kind soul when she was just a child. My condolences to Seamus, Helen and family. Thoughts and prayers to everyone. She is now resting in heaven.

My deepest sympathies to her husband Stephen and to her parents at this very difficult time. I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Aisling’s passing.

I knew Aisling through work at TU Dublin and always found her endlessly helpful, enthusiastic and full of energy. She brought creativity, curiosity and humour to everything she did.

I had the privilege of taking part in one of her escape rooms, and she also organised a LEGO workshop at the end of an international event I was involved in. What began with some curiosity quickly turned into great fun and surprisingly valuable insights, thanks to Aisling’s creativity and enthusiasm, leaving everyone genuinely amazed and delighted.

Thanks for this opportunity. I met Aisling in person in 2024, and then we connected online after that. Her energy, her commitment, her smile. I am one of those who had the privilege of crossing paths with her gentle soul. I feel so grateful. She will accompany me in my practice and in my upcoming PhD. She will be on my side, and I will benefit from her encouragement. Because that's who she's been in my life: one of those gifts you don't expect, changes something, and sticks with you, forever. Aisling was one of the brightest, most interesting and most sincere people you could ever hope to meet. While we met through work I truly think of her as a friend, one I really expect to have for a long time to come. There are not enough words to explain how she will be missed academically and personally.

My condolences Stephen and all of Aisling’s family. I’m shocked and saddened to hear of Aisling’s death. She and I met in 2011 while studying in Konstanz, Germany together. We lived in the same apartment block, Europahaus. And for that year, became fast friends. She was hilarious, so bright and witty, we chatted for hundreds of hours across that year. Making amazing memories. What a special person. I’m so sorry to all those close to her.

I met Aisling during an exchange program in Germany. She was a very important person to me, because she helped me feel less out of place during that time in Europe. At Christmas, which I was spending away from my family in a foreign country, she invited me to spend it with her family in Dublin—an experience I will cherish in my heart forever. It will always remain with me.

We are a US- and Ireland-based team of ~15 TU Dublin PhD students and graduates who for nearly 20 years have led global research at the forefront of regulatory science topics.  Aisling played a pivotal role for us in 2024 when she encouraged us to disseminate our work via an Open-Access Journal.  She skillfully - and patiently - guided and coached us in the creation of our journal, the Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences.  It is something we are very proud of as a means to advance quality in the pharmaceutical industry, with nearly 6,200 downloads in less than 2 years.  This work and its global reach would not have been possible without her - each of the 6,200 readers.  

Please know we miss Aisling's friendly smile and constant encouragement.  We were blessed to get the chance to know and work with her, and call her friend.  Our journal means that much more to us now - through it Aisling’s legacy will live on, and we look forward to dedicating a future issue in her memory.

I only met Aisling very recently. She made such an impact in such a short space of time as we put the world to rights on disability justice, women's health and the culture of research and academic libraries. She was a passionate, warm and truly wonderful woman and I'm so sad to hear of her passing. Not many people touch hearts in the way Aisling clearly did, and I'm so glad I got to meet her and spend some time with her. Sending my sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones.
