To all my family in Ireland - my uncles, aunts and cousins, especially Francis, Ian and Hilary, I extend my deepest condolences and prayers.
Although I have not seen Al in many years my memory of him is a fond one - he will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He always made me laugh and that is how I will continue to remember him.
God Speed Uncle Al.

I remember dear Uncle Al, who made me smile with his stories, who encouraged me to write and be true to myself, and who, during one glorious visit to his brother's family in Canada when I was nine years old, took me for a walk every day and bought me my very own popsicle!
My uncle Al was a hero, one of the only people who ever even tried to talk sense into his brother, my father.
I will remember Al's easy smile and effortless charm, his great and abiding faith and his wonderful sparkly wit.
My condolences to all who loved him. Rest in peace uncle Al, I will pray for you everyday.
