Sincere condolences to all the Mulcahy family on the death of Al. Had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Limerick Racecourse, a most interesting man and many the chat we had about his exploits over the years in the military as a sailor an author and inventor.

Dearest Olive and you family. Shattered to learn of the passing of Al. He was such an treasure and interesting person. He could blend in anywhere and made such an impression on our family at my seventieth. To you Olive, Claire, Brian, Aisling, Cormac and Erica and extended family please accept our sincerest sympathies. Wishing you well and hoping that the wonderful memories he left you will carry you through the difficult days ahead. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Sincerest sympathy to Al’s family and friends on his passing. I have great memories of Al and his brothers, when bringing in the hay to their farm house yard , at Knockhill on the Ennis Road dual carriage way, ( Coonagh roundabout ).
As a child I remember handball being played by the locals using the then actual Ennis Rd surface, and the gable end of a Mulcahy farm out house there - backing onto the road - as a handball alley. It has been an honour to have known Al, all my life. May he Rest In Peace.

Horse drawn carriage, sunfilled birthday bash and his beautiful painting of the Clare hills that will always remind me of his generosity, love of culture and county, and his family. I am sorry to hear of Al's death. I first met Al in the 60 in Jetland Ballroom and was with him on the roof of Dromore Castle,and he playing the bagpipes great memories.

Dear Olive and family, I was very sad to hear my uncle Al had died and sorry I can't be there with you all. I haven't seen him much in the last 20 years but he left a huge impression on me as a child with his stories, drawings and good humour. Lots of love and thinking of you all.

I met Al only once, 11 years ago this week, when I visited to pick his brains about the history of his native Caherdavin. I left amazed at not only his powers of recollection, but also at his ability to turn those recollections of long-demolished houses into drawings which were brilliant works of art.

Olive- We are so sorry to hear of Al’s death. He was such an interesting man with a warm and colourful personality.He was the first person I saw at the gate of Cratloe graveyard on the day of my father’s burial there in 2018. May they both rest in peace now.
