Alan was such a funny, happy and laid-back guy. He cared greatly for the people around him, he was passionate about what he did, and if he ever had a spare 30mins, you would find him fishing down by the waters edge. My memories are all positive, a wonderful person and I hope he finds his peace.

I met you Michael almost ten years ago in the Wells Bar with my sister Colette. So sad that we are hearing of a wonderful personality who brought so much cheer and being a great loss to so many people.

I’m so sorry to hear about Alan passing. I’ll always remember him as easy going and happy. He always had a big smile and was so easy to chat to. May he be at peace.

It is with the deepest sadness that I heard from Michael and Eleanor the passing of their son, my work colleague, my team-mate, my Friend, Alan.
Alan came to work for me at Steensen Varming in Sydney, Australia where he not only showed his skills as a mechanical engineer, but as a people person, where colleagues and clients alike, warmed to his dedication and personality, he worked on many notable projects over the years, with his commitment to the company taking him also to Copenhagen and London. We played football together for the CC Strikers on the Northern Beaches, he was the hardest guy to tackle that I ever came across.
There were many times where myself, my wife and kids enjoyed Alan's company on a personal level - he was easy, warm, dependable, funny and sincere.
So if I may, I would like to pass on heartfelt condolences to the Buckley family from myself personally and on behalf of my family, Steensen Varming and his football friends. Alan will live long in our memories, may he now rest in peace. Dan

Deepest sympathy on your loss of Alan. You all spoke so beautifully and bravely as a family of Alan and your/his family life at his funeral mass today.
Elanor - you spoke to the truth, you spoke your pain, you spoke to Alan's suffering, you spoke to us so eloquently -us parents who love watch and worry about our children. Your council was heard and so needed. I feel sure your words will help to improve the suffering of others, for us all to slow down and listen to our children, look deep into their eyes and witness their suffering and then to help in every way humanly possible.

I grew up across the street from you and I have travelled the world and met a few other people along the way and you are still up there as the kindest warmest people I am lucky enough to have met in my lifetime.
Plus fabulous neighbours all these years to my Mum and Dad.
