Dear Loraine, I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Alan's passing. He was my first boyfriend, and I loved hanging out with him before school. My memory of him is of his wit, wry smile and fantastic sense of humour, which from reading the messages here, was his true self.

I am sure you can see him in your children, and hope your memories help ease the pain of his loss through the hard days.

Please convey my deepest sympathy to his mum, she was a much loved teacher to my siblings, especially my sister Aisling. I am sorry I was unable to attend his funeral.

Pauline, Gregory, Shane, Alans wife and boys I am extremely shocked to learn of Alans passing. I just heard the death notices on shannonside this morning on my way to work i'm so deeply sorry to have missed the funeral but be sure my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember the old days as a child visiting the Crossans with dad. May Alan rest in eternal peace and be reunited with Michael and Rosemary.
