So sad Alan was lovely guy and became a friend from the moment I met him. May he rest in peace.
So shocked and saddened to hear of Alan’s passing. One of the nicest guys I had the pleasure of knowing. Will miss sharing funny stories online, and the long chats we would have when we met in the street, delaying us both but he always made time for a laugh. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. RIP.

I only met Alan one time but his care, friendliness and fun loving spirit is something that I will remember forever. Through a mutual friend, we chatted before my trip and we met each other and he went out of his way to make my stay with my daughter in Ireland one I will never forget and although it was a short visit, he impacted my life immensely. I will miss him and my thoughts are with his entire family and friends.

I was indeed shocked by the loss of Alan, my most senior cousin. We frequently connected on my visits home and was always caring as to how my side of the family were. His caring nature was obvious. I will remember the flaming red hair of his youth, his always smiling face ( looking down at me ;) and his stories of adventure. Big loss to all who knew him, I’m sure. It certainly is to me. My deepest, heart felt condolences to Mary and children, his mother Betty and siblings all.
I was privileged to meet Big Al through Wednesday night football. He is one of the wisest and funniest people I have ever met. His memory will live on. Our sincere condolences to Mary, Hazel, Jake and Sophie.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Alan's passing. Alan coached Eoin in soccer for a number of very happy years. As a parent I will always be grateful to Alan for the time and patience he devoted to Eoin and his Team. We all had great fun through the wins and losses. However, regardless of the result, Alan was only focused on the kids, their development and their happiness playing a sport we all love. We are sorry we can not be there today to offer our support. I do hope however that knowing Alan had such an impact on so many kids lives and that he will be fondly remembered brings you and your family some comfort today and for the future.
