My sincere condolences to you, Charlie, Julie, Thea, Joey, Jack, and the extended family on the passing of lovely Ogmore. A true gentleman to the core.
I was so sad to hear of the passing of Ogmore. He was always such a welcoming and warm person to talk to in Lansdowne. I had the pleasure of running into him at the warehouse cafe in Harolds Cross in recent times and we had such a lovely chat. Sincere condolences to Charlie, Joey and all the Tilleys.
Deepest sympathy to all of the Tilley family on the passing of Ogmore. May all your wonderful memories of him be a comfort to you during this time. RIP
Sincere sympathy to Charlie, Thea, Joey, Jack and the extended family on the sad passing of dear Ogmore. He was a great character and will be remembered always in Lansdowne Tennis Club. Thinking of all the family at this time.
If I didn’t know the unique Ogmore before a tennis trip to France in the 1990’s I certainly knew him after. We shared accommodation and what a fund of stories he had-growing up in Ogmore Vale as the proud son of a Welsh miner, beating Lyn Davies in the long jump, playing soccer for the University, arriving in Dublin for a soccer match in 1966 and ultimately staying, setting up his electronic controls business in a garage in Ranelagh in 1973, joining the magnificent Welsh Choir and taking up tennis and joining Lansdowne in 1977. Most of all he spoke with pride and affection of Charlie and the children. Thanks for the memories Ogmore,
I was very sad to read of Alan’s passing in the Irish Times.
My deepest and sincerest condolences to all his loved ones and extension family in Ireland and Wales.
I grew up and lived at 7 Sandymount Ave until I and my siblings moved on. My Parents , Peter and Agnes Lane continued to live there until my mother passed away in 1980 and my father moved to a retirement facility in 1986.
There are no words to express what a wonderful kind and caring neighbour Alan was. He was so supportive of my Dad when Mom became ill.
During a severe blizzard in 1981 and we were unable to travel to Sandymount Alan helped and supported Dad away above the call of duty so much so that we had peace of mind knowing that he was next door. And, he kept touch with me and my brother reassuring us.
Alan was a true gentleman to the core.
I remember his amazing sense of humour. His wonderful singing voice and his laughter was infectious.
I hope that the happy memories that you have shared will ease the pain of loss with time.
May his gentle soul rest in Peace
With sympathy
Eileen. (née Lane)

I was saddened to read about Ogmores passing earlier today in the Irish Times. I have fond memories of Charlie and Ogmore hosting me in their home during the Lansdowne Junior Open Tournament in 1986. Any time that I subsequently met Ogmore we always had a laugh and a joke about my entry in their visitor book.
Sincere sympathies to Charlie and family on Ogmores passing. May he Rest In Peace.

Dear Charlie, Julie, Thea, Joey, Jack, Anna, Cameron, Conor, Solas, Lucy and extended families, I offer you my sincerest sympathy at this time of loss. Though our encounters were few, hospitality is the quality that comes to the fore when I think of Ogmore. Many moons ago when Diana and I had tickets to a concert at the 02, I was hosted like family, actually better than family, with Ogmore adding in a tour and a meal in a favourite restaurant. Rest in Peace Ogmore and may your kindness be rewarded.

RIP Ogmore and thanks for the memories
I was so very saddened to hear the news. Ogmore was the very first person I met in Lansdowne when I came to Ireland to play a junior tournament some 25 years ago, and later, when I joined the club, he was always an ever-present, friendly face. He was such a character, and a huge loss for his family and the club community.

Thinking especially of Charlie, Joey and Thea at this difficult time.

With deepest sympathy,

Lorna + Liz Jennings
