I knew Alan well from our runnings days in RTE he was a very hard man to keep up with.He was so conscientious in getting everything right especially when he was in charge of the finish line of the RTE Athletic club race,a true perfectionist.

It is with deep sadness that I learn of the passing of Alan, I had the privilege and honour of having Alan as a very highly respected RTE colleague for many years and what a Gentleman he was.
Following both our retirements from RTE we often met in our travels and he was still the same jubilant gentleman we all new, and he spoke of his love of Running, the topics of the day, but most of all his beloved family.
