Very sad today to learn of your passing. My Father met you in the Milestone pub with Wendy when he was visiting from England, after that I often bumped into you whilst you were in your taxi. You were always so friendly and kind. Rest in peace. Thoughts with Wendy and your family.

Having only met the man once with his partner I cannot speak for his past, or his course through life.

We were utterly shocked to hear the unfortunate announcement about Alan's recent passing; he was a respectable neighbour who kept to himself and never bothered a soul on our quiet avenue. I will fondly remember him washing and maintaining his taxi religiously every weekend since 2005 when we all moved into the new build which is Hamlet Avenue... I never spoke to him personally but he was a genuine, decent-living man who cared for himself and his business with pride, according to those who did have the chance to know him. Alan was one of the funniest people I have ever known. His smile was infectious. But he was so much more than that. Kind, caring and generous. He was a true animal lover. I hadnt seen Alan for many years, and yet the realisation that I will not have the pleasure of crossing paths with him again stings hard. The world was a much better place with him in it.
