I was indeed very sorry to learn of Alan's passing. Having met him a number of times while writing the club history, I found him a true gentleman and a great help in completing the book.

I am very sorry I missed the service, due to work. I really liked Alan, having known him for years in Carrickmines GC, even more years than I was in school with Andrew in Brook House! Robbie
