I have happy memories of working in Carbury NS. I remember how kind Alan was and the success of the beautiful Christmas Carol Service. He was always welcoming each morning, even the odd morning he needed to shovel snow. He was always strong, dapper and quick- witted. Sincere condolences to to the staff & community of Carbury NS. We were deeply saddened to hear the news that Alan had died and offer our sincerest sympathy to all who loved Alan.
All our interactions with Alan leave us with pleasant memories. He was extremely approachable as a school principal and was so obviously doing a job he loved. Any time we met Alan he always had time for a chat and continued to take an interest in the students that had their primary education in Carbury NS as they progressed into adulthood.
We will be holding Alan's family, colleagues, students and friends close in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
