Sending my deepest sympathies to Sarah on the recent sad loss of her much loved Alan. I was lucky to be introduced to Alan and Sarah, through mutual friends (Tom and Chelita) and we had some lovely times together, in particular, some NYE outings. Alan was always such interested and interesting company, as well as being a gentleman.
Also, sending sincerest sympathies to the Murphy family on their great loss of a much loved son and brother.

How I wish we had the opportunity to spend more time with Alan, whom Sarah always spoke of with so much admiration and love. He set the bar high for what it means to truly love someone and my sister blossomed in the 14 years they were together. Whenever my sister came to Manila to visit, she and Alan would carve time out to talk to each other every day. Even as she would disappear to a private spot for their hour long conversations, her laughter and delight always filled the air. They just had so much joy in each other's company.

Alan, our eldest brother, your memory will live strong in our hearts. Your legacy is the most profound legacy of all for it is the legacy of love. Your life will always be an inspiration. You will be greatly missed.

Dear Sarah
Alan leaves a huge void in many lives. We have no words to describe the sadness we feel. Alan was a great listener and also an encyclopaedia of knowledge. We all loved spending time with him in Doggy Park.

I am deeply saddened by news of Alan's passing. What a wonderful man. Alan was always interesting and interested - a rare combination. Alan's kindness to my youngest son Mark made him feel special and important at a time when he was uncertain of himself - thank you Alan. Mark and I will always remember him as the most generous, intelligent and wonderful friend. We are thinking of you all, especially Sarah, at this most difficult time.
