Alan Ridgway

My sympathy to all of Alan's family on his untimely passing. We were in school together for some classes in CBS Sexton Street.He was always measured in the way he would speak to someone but had a wry sense of humour behind it all. His picture epitimises how I remember him. Except he had a lot more hair in the very early 80's. Rest easy.

Sarah and Jack, I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I had the privilege of working with Alan and greatly valued his integrity, intelligence, wit and his kind manner. He was a true gentleman and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Alan. I had the great pleasure of teaching him many years ago. I can still see his beaming smile and blond head looking up at me. He was a very bright, engaging student with a lovely, easy charm.

Alan was a very fine man from a very fine family. We knew him well when he was younger and he was a pleasure to meet. All our sympathy and God will be good to him.

Dear Sarah,
Dear Jack,

You probably don’t remember me, but I had the privilege of working with your father at Ikano between 2008 and 2010, and I met you both several times when you were still very young.

Your father, Alan, was my boss. Although he wasn’t an expert in my specific field (which is precisely why he hired me), I always saw him as a mentor — especially when it came to networking and building relationships. I had great admiration for him, and I truly valued the time we worked together. I will miss him deeply.

I will always remember his big smile and the many great moments we shared.

I wish you, your family, and all who were close to him much strength and courage during these difficult times.

It is not longevity but the value in life in the time given. It is a tribute to Alan that he achieved that.

Very sad to hear of Alan’s passing and my sincerest condolences to the family. Grew up also in Castletroy, attended UL at the same time and always remember his willingness to share his accounting notes and explain things I did not understand.
