Sincere Condolences to Alan's Family, loved ones and friends. I had the pleasure to attend at his Communion where he was so happy in the company of his Classmates singing and laughing.

Alan was everyone best friend at school, with a kind, gentle heart and inviting smile. He will remembered fondly by his classmates their parents, teachers and sadly the wider Sligo Community given the tragedy of his passing.

As a father I could only imagine the pain for Alan's parents. Words fall short to comfort you, know you will always have the support of his friends, their parents and his teachers.

What a heartbreak for this poor family. Such lovely heartwarming & genuine words of Condolances from people, as is always the case. Once the Funerals have taken place,then the families are left to try to deal on their own & cope with their loss. We see the Public just move on to pour out their Condolences to the next unfortunates who who have passed on. How many families don't hear from or see the Bereaved again, only in passing. It would be so nice and so comforting fo the Bereaved to at least ask if they could, in any way, be of assistance to them, to call in on them spend a little time with them, invite them to their own homes, to pass an hour or so with them, offer them a coffee or tea, let them speak about times when life was good and all the family were leading normal lives.
Support afterwards for all families is so important to help them through the initial few months following Bereavements. If the Bereaved just want to be left alone, that's their perogative. We have had quite a few Bereavements in our family over the years, we would have loved some extra company, but alas, people just ran away.
We feel very strongly about this, also so many others havr discussed these points with us, all were in agreement that they needed some moral support.
