My sincerest condolences to Alans family on their loss. Alan was an amazing person who lived for his family especially his two sons. I have 2 portraits of my granddaughter that he painted for me and my husband, also murals on walls in our house. He was a person whose greatest pleasure was helping others. A beautiful person both inside and out. May you rest in the arms of the angels Alan 💔

I first met Alan over 20 yrs ago. He was a fantastic friend to me. Always so positive, supportive & non judgemental. He had a lovely, gentle manner about him, such a genuine guy.. I only spoke to this gentelman twice in the 22 years liven in balbriggan.once was when i was looking at one of his painting we talked for awhile. His smile i will never forget.the next time was when i was walking my dog he just put his hand out to pet her and she just jumped up and kissed his face . He was quite shocked but i told him she only did that to people she liked and were kind.so what i am trying to say is what a wonderful person he was.My Coldolence to His Boys.May you rest in peace Alan.

I'm heartbroken by Alan's passing. He was a beautiful, talented, sweet soul who encouraged and supported me when we were young and was endlessly kind to me over the years since then, always generous with his time and advice.

I am saddened and shocked, learning about this unbelievable tragedy. Alan was one of the most talented Art students, that I encountered during my 19 years as Principal of the Community College. Works I will remember him for - his brilliant portrait of President Mary Robinson, which he had the honour of presenting to her during her visit to the College and a painting of my dog Rusty, which hangs with pride in my sitting room.
My sincere condolences to all his family and loyal friends. Rest in eternal peace Alan, your legacy will live on in the works you have left behind.
