My heartfelt condolences to all in Alannah's family.
I was lucky to meet Alannah as a fellow teacher who also became a very dear friend. I loved Alannah for her sense of integrity, fun, style and wisdom. She was an inpiring friend and teacher. Never boastful, she always spoke about her children with such love and pride.
Fairness, supporting others in times of need and working hard were passionately held values I associate with Alannah.
Her creative impulse and dedication to art created a wellspring of amazing work which will be enjoyed I'm sure by family and strangers for generations to come. She got such a kick out of creating that violin!
I hold many cherished memories of Alannah. Conversations which evoked deep reflection as well as more avant -garde perspectives, interspersed with plenty of fun.
Images of those twinkling eyes and that beautiful smile will remain with me forever.
Saddened to learn of the death of dear Alannah. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family Mark, David, Siobhan and Fergus and all her grandchildren. Alannah was a very special, stylish and talented person. I always enjoyed my visits to Limerick and her visits to Whaley. Very sorry to hear of Alannahs passing. I knew her from our days studying together in the Art school where she was a friend and mentor to many of us young budding artists. She was a kind and calming friend and always happy to help, a person to go to when everything was going belly up, which it often did back then. She gave us a loan of a tiny cottage in Liscannor for our honeymoon one very cold March back in the seventies and i always think of her when i pass that way. May she rest in Peace.
My sincere sympathy to all of Alannah's family on their sad loss. She had a fascinating and questionong mind, the soul of an artist combined with a sympathetic and understanding personhood. May she rest in everlasting peace.
